Welcome to the Royal Oak Ecchinswell

The Royal Oak is a delightful 15th Century country pub set in the heart of the ancient village of Ecchinswell which has been a community since before the Domesday Book was even thought of.  Ecchinswell is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in England, including the famous Watership Down and consequently is the starting and finishing point of many lovely walks and rides.

We have a large and secluded garden which runs down to the village stream where well behaved children and dogs on leads are welcome.

Our kitchen has been completely transformed and we now offer separate Bar and Dining Room menus which use the finest, freshest produce, sourced locally wherever possible to create a superbly simple but varied range of mainly British food.  We also offer a spectacular and eclectic wine list with both Old and New World classics and prices to suit every pocket.  Our award winning real ales are also sourced locally from a small family owned brewery just across the border in West Berkshire.

Our philosophy is simple - we just want to provide all of our customers with a good time in a relaxed, convivial atmosphere and at the same time give a quality service.
